Describe:
Both of my photos are color double exposure photos. They use the double exposure technique to emphasize space. One has a scaled down horse trotting on a fence and the other has a scaled down girl looking over the edge of a spinner wheel. Analyze: Both photos show a contrast in the proportions in the photos. The second photo shows a variety in the textures on the surfaces. Interpret: The first photo has more of a light flowing mood with the cherry blossoms and the light horse with flowing mane. The second photo has a more intense feel with the colors that are darker jewel colors and since the girl is looking down a far way. Evaluate: I feel that my photos were successful because of the interesting proportions and stories that my photos show. Describe:
These are a series of four portrait photos. Most are detail photos but one is side lit portrait. One shows the form of rain boots walking in a puddle, and the photo is in black and white. One is a picture of my mom under an umbrella with the glossy texture of the clear umbrella over her face. One is a picture of my friend's lips to her neck and the values of colors from the light between her face and her chest. The last is a picture of my friend lit from the side from the light of a window, that highlights her face with the differing values of light and dark. Analyze: The emphasis of all of my photos were the face or feet of the person in the portrait. They all show a unity with the themes of the photos ie: the puddle with the boots is shades of grey like a rainy day would be, the coffee shop photos use warm lighting and colors like a coffee shop would be. The balance is all in the rule of thirds. Interpret: For my rainy days photos I was inspired by the cloudy weather outside and saw a pair of rain boots and a cute umbrella hung up and thought of an adult acting like a child and splashing in puddles and walking around on a rainy day. I also like the cloudy colors and the way the bright green of spring was so contrasting to the grey sky. For the coffee shop photos with my friend, the way the light was so perfect with the warm feeling I get when spending an afternoon talking with friends and drinking coffee. Evaluate: I was overall satisfied with my portrait photo. I feel they convey the mood and focus on the parts of the person I wanted it to while also being creative in the delivery. Especially for my rainy day photos I feel that most people would not think of portraying a portrait in that manner but it still tells you about the person. Describe:
-My first image is photograph in black and white that depicts a ducks feet and its shadow from the sun on the ground in front of the duck's feet. -My second picture is a black and white photograph that centers around a horses eye that reflects the image in front of it, including the photographer (me) and the landscape of a farm. Analyze: -The first photo easily shows a contrast between the lighter ground and the dark shadow or the values of the black and white scheme. It also shows asymmetrical balance, since the shape of the duck's shadow is the the right third of the photo. -The second photo contains a strong visual movement from the lines and shape of the horse's eyes that moves your eyes along the line of the eye and through the photo. The textures of the glossy eye and the hairy face and pokey eyelashes show the variety in the photo as well. Interpret: -In the first photo I saw a duck waddling by me in the afternoon sunlight and I thought the duck looked just a small bit out of proportion with its shadow, and the shape of the duck was simply flipped at the feet. -In the second photo I wanted to get a picture of my horses eye color and noticed that I could see almost what I can imagine he would see, since the world was reflected. Evaluate: -For the first photo I took I am satisfied with the outcome of the photo, because it is shows and interesting perspective of how a shadow looks with the actual object making the subject and the shadow draws your eye because of the unique shape and stark color. -For the second photo I like the way the different textures and lines come together to show what the horse and its eye look like and what the horse sees looks like. |
